Hannah’s dance training background is extensive. Starting at the age of 2, Hannah attended Frogmore Dance School in Hampshire where she began with ballet, quickly followed by Tap and Modern. Here she fell in love. Dancing most days after school Hannah started to perform in shows and competitions with the school, finding herself put in class with dancers a lot older than her, pushed by her teacher, Kat Barlow, who saw her potential straight away.
Due to changes within her first school, in 2007 she moved to Jayne A Coleman Academy of Dance, a school with an outstanding reputation to this day. Jayne set’s the tone incredibly well for dancers whether they want to do dance as a career or not, she teaches you professionalism, work ethic, respect, etiquette, determination and a hunger for excellence. With JACAD, Hannah spent her teenage years working hard during evenings, weekends and even school holidays competing in various competitions, qualifying endlessly for the All Englands, performing in annual showcases, taking ISTD dance exams in all subjects as well as experiencing other opportunities including Dance Proms at the Royal Albert Hall and The Dance World Cup. Her training has been intense in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz and Musical Theatre from a young age, making her foundation in her craft unshakeable.
With her Mother being a music teacher, Hannah also has a musical background and skillset, growing up playing the flute and drums, taking singing exams, and performing musically throughout her childhood.
From the age of 6 Hannah was working as a dancer locally in the Pantomimes, as well as working as a child ‘extra’ in tv and film.
In 2008, Hannah landed the role of Ballet Girl Sharon Percy in Billy Elliot the Musical in London’s West End, alongside Tom Holland.
At the age of 18, Hannah auditioned successfully for Tiffany Theatre College. Initially planning to attend for 3 years, the principal upon seeing Hannah audition, suggested she only needed to do the One Year Professional Performance Course, meaning jumping straight in to join the third years.
Here Hannah was introduced to ‘commercial’ as a style, and again, fell in love. Here she realised she wanted to work towards the commercial world as a professional.
Tiffany’s had an intense ballet schedule with the incredible Dilly Greasley as the teacher, so unexpectedly, Hannah’s ballet skill’s grew remarkably in the one year she spent at the college. Singing and acting continued to play a role and her confidence grew in all the ways.
Tiffany came with opportunites including their annual showcase and performances at Move It, London, and the chance to learn from some amazing teachers including Liam Lunniss, David Wood, Matt Flint, Anthony Whiteman and Damien Jackson.
After graduating from college Hannah went to Los Angeles to take part in a 3 month Certificate Programme with Millennium Dance Complex. After loving it so much she returned and spent another year there training. Here she met Aisha Francis, a world renowned Heels master and teacher, who took Hannah and a select few other dancers under her wing to train and mentor personally. Heel’s dancing and Hannah met and were soulmates.
Her time in LA resulted in making a huge number of contacts, training and building relationships with Jojo Gomez, Yanis Marshall, Jersey Mansicalco, Brinn Nicole, Danielle Polanco to mention a few.
After a work visa denial Hannah had to rethink her plan to move to the USA, and started taking more classes in London as well as teaching her own Heel’s Pop Up classes, an encouraging idea from Aisha.
It wasn’t long before Jojo Gomez came to the UK looking for dancers for a performance with Demi Lovato, and Hannah’s professional career began.
Hannah’s career has been the result of successful auditions but mainly due to her relationships and contacts specifically from overseas.
The invisible thread follows her today still, all her opportunities completely aligned and unforced, and her foundation and extensive training journey has been the asset that makes her such a great student, employee and teacher.
